U.S. Selective Service Registration

Dear Male Students,

It is required by law that you register to the Selective Service no later than 30 days after your 18th birthday.  You can pre-register at 17 years and 3 months of age and your registration will be held until you reach 18. 

 

What happens if I do not register?

  • You will be unable to receive federally funded college loans and grants.
  • You will be unable to get into federally funded training and certification programs.
  • You will be unable to attain federal employment.
  • You will be ineligible for state and local government jobs.
  • Immigrants (undocumented and/or documented) will have a 5-year delay in processing their citizenship application.
